Santolina, often called Lavender Cotton, is a semi-woody, tender evergreen shrub that boasts aromatic, silver-gray foliage. This heirloom plant is particularly noted for its contrasting yellow flowers that bloom amidst the striking silver leaves. GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
For spring planting, a 30 day cold stratification is needed before sowing. Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per plant, 1/8" deep in full sun and well draining soil. Does well in average to poor soil making them great for rock gardens Keep lightly moist until germination. Keep the soil moist and maintain a temperature of 70°F (21°C). Transplant seedlings outdoors after the danger of frost has passed, spacing them 20 inches apart in well-draining soil and full sun.
