Avatar Betta Fish (Male)

A beautiful and unique variety of the betta fish species. It has a striking black coloration that is accented by iridescent blue spots on its fins and body. Our breeders have selectively bred this fish to have a perfect color on its body.

• Body and Fins:Male Avatar Bettas are typically short-finned (Plakat) Bettas, with stocky, cylindrical bodies and shorter, more robust fins compared to their long-finned counterparts. 
• Coloration:They are famous for their deep, intense metallic colors, which can include electric blue, turquoise, dark black, or even copper and gold. 
• Iridescence:The name "Avatar" comes from the way light reflects off the body and scales, creating a dazzling, iridescent display of color. 
• Patterns:The coloration often includes intricate patterns on the fins and body, with some specimens even featuring unique "heart" patterns on their sides. 
• Temperament:Like most male Bettas, they are territorial and aggressive and must be kept alone or with very careful consideration of tank mates to prevent fighting. 

• Indonesia:The Avatar Betta is a variety developed by breeders, particularly in Indonesia, who have selectively bred Betta splendens for enhanced color intensity and fin strength. 
• Hybridization:It is a domesticated form resulting from line-breeding and hybridization with other Betta species and mutations to achieve the striking appearance. 
• Named After a Film:The name "Avatar" is inspired by the popular movie, similar to other named varieties like "Hellboy" or "Armageddon" that are also produced in Southeast Asia.
